Pic of the week
Each week, a new picture will appear here - normally one taken during the previous seven days. As they are replaced, the best will be saved in 'Previous pics of the week'.
This week, again (but I won't make a habit of this), I'm replacing the usual single pic with a slideshow of images - this time, all taken on 15 November - when the river was spectacularly in spate after a night of rain onto already saturated ground. The becks just drained the water straight downhill off the fells (see the final, green, pic), to boost High Force to 'high and mighty' status, and Low Force to a truly impressive sight (and sound) - though this didn't deter one hardy kayaker (Sam Ellis, of York) from enjoying the challenging descent!
(Please contact me if you'd like to buy a print of any of the pictures.)
